You need to be in decent shape for this one. The most direct route is steeper than it looks (and it looks fairly steep) and it can be a little tough to maintain your footing on the decent in some areas.
There are several ways to approach the cache, but unless you start on the east side of the hills (Virginia Range - this would require 4WD to get to your starting point I believe) you will have a 1000' elevation rise in about a 3/4 to 1+ mile hike, depending on your route. If you are in great shape and hussled in and out, you could probably do this in under an hour. But give yourself 2+ hours so you can appreciate the spectacular views (and catch your breath) of Reno/Sparks as well as parts of Storey county. I think the cache may be in Storey county. For an extra treat, take one of several alternate routes down to see more of the spectacular scenery.
Cache is a brown Ovaltine jar. Original contents: a log book, two pencils,Geocat coin, 2 stretchy lizards, lanyard, quick release key chain and two hand warmers.
