Geocache Description:

Another geocache along the Cape Haze Pioneer Trail, a nice paved Rails to Trails path for walking, biking, and rollerblades.

It is 2/3 mile from a trail parking lot, but if you check your map and approach from the East you can park as close as 1/8 mile away. Please don't park in the condos on the west side. There does not seem to be any guest parking there.

This cache will appeal to beginners or those, like me, that have little patience looking for something the size of a lipstick, camoed, and hidden in a forest! And all the while being bitten by mosquitoes and fire ants..UGH!

Watch where you walk as you may trip over this one. Leave a colorful note in the log; been there, done that; move on to the next cache or enjoy the rest of the trail. There is plenty of room in the cache box if you care to leave trade items.

I think the south end of the trail, just 2.5 miles away, is one of the most beautiful and tranquil places around. You will see mullet jumping and a large variety of water birds that feed in the Coral Creek. You may see otters. If you walk to the waters edge on the west side at the end and look back to the north northwest you will see a tall dead tree. Often there is an eagle perched on that tree.
