Geocache Description:

The co-ordinates are one of the clues in this multi, and is maybe the best starting point. It can be driven close to but if your car is lowered, then you may have to bring a bag for the bits and pick them up on the way out. The rest of the clues are within walking distance from this. Overall allow about a couple of hours for the complete exercise. Reception is sketchy in places due to tree cover; we have given some good hints for each clue cache.

Located near the Ashburton River, on the North side, this multi cache should encourage a wander for the day. The walkway can be quite populated on some days, as it is used as a mountain biking track as well as walking – plus the odd motorbike (which officially is a “no no” on the walkway).
Fishermen use this as access for the river, and some people simply enjoy it. Please note: water quality is very poor and SWIMMING IS NOT RECOMMENDED.
The wide variety of takeaway foods available in Ashburton can, sadly, at times be well displayed through the range of packaging items left on display along this track.

All weather access is possible, but can be muddy on the wet cool days of winter.

Other than the co-ordinates posted for this cache, the following listed co-locate the rest of the series of clues. There are four plus the final to find.
When set up, each clue cache contained a teddy bear with a letter = number. You need to write down all six numbers and their associated letter to complete the co-ordinates for the final cache.
NOTE: Due to migratory habits of some bears, one has wandered off and so a new clue is included...
To help keep this cache challenging, we encourage you to move the Teddy Bears (that 'bear' the clues for the final cache location) around among their hiding spots, double them up, swap them etc., to encourage others to complete that task on one day. In this way each time the multi cache is completed, the clues could have been “manually encrypted”. Doing a few caches one day will not necessarily mean you simply need to complete the remaining caches the next.
Some caches may be empty if bears are doubled up, some may have more than one bear. Each bear has a tag asking for it to be left there – the meaning being that it is to be left in the any of the string of clue caches making this multi. Please do not leave any in the final cache.

The other clue caches co-ordinates are listed below.
(1) S 43 55.339 E 171 45.013
(3) S 43 55.001 E 171 44.773
(4) S 43 54.963 E 171 44.743 This one has poor reception for some GPS's
(5) S 43 54.893 E 171 44.678 - this one has no bear, but a sign (which doesn't say no bears). XY minutes, F = Y-X.
Final Location: S 43 54.SLD E 171 44.FAK

Each bear has a tag with one of these letters on it, and one number, which is used in place of the letter.
Note the clues are not necessarily in order along the walkway.

In the final cache is the usual logbook,
Best of Luck & Have Fun
