Roddlesworth and Darwen Moor form part of the West Pennine
Moors, lying just south of Darwen and Blackburn. The three
reservoirs at Roddlesworth, which are linked to the Rivington
system, lie in the valley of the River Roddlesworth surrounded by
some of the finest woodland in Lancashire.
The area offers a variety of routes for walking, cycling and
horseriders, whilst remaining a valuable wildlife habitat.
The cache can be found in Roddlesworth Woods in Tockholes
(pronounced Tockles).
A small selection of Photo’s of the area can be found at
www.pbase.com/lisae/roddlesworth_woods
Whilst this isn’t the only cache in the area it is the first
cache (as far as I am aware) where the actual co-ordinates are
listed on Geocaching.com
The Parking co-ordinates are for the Roddlesworth Information
Centre & Café. The cache is a small tupperware container
containing a few small items. Please ensure it is sealed and
re-hidden as it can be quite damp around the area at this time of
year.
