Geocache Description:

A cache hidden in Heswall Dales, a lovely little nature reserve in South Wirral. This cache is replacing Up Hill and Down Dale. It’s in a different part of the Dale and the Parking place is different.

The cache is a small container hidden in a lovely place in the Heswall Dales. You will need to find two micros first to access the cache. It is a 25-30 min round trip walk along undulating footpaths. After a short walk the path divides into three paths. Take the middle path. There is the probability that some paths may get slightly muddy after rain. Please wear sturdy footwear! We wouldn't recommend this cache to be done at night. Heswall dales is a fairly hilly area of heathland covering 72 acres. You will see many different plants and hopefully evidence of wildlife during your short walk. Park at on the road at N53'19.654 W003'06.740. From here you will walk to the first micro, which is hidden at the main coordinates above . Hopefully tree coverage won't hinder your GPS signal too much. micro. The next micro will contain the coordinates for the final cache location. Don't go through the opening near the second micro. Carry on the main path past a garden and up the steps. After finding the final cache, just carry on along the path and down the steps. When you reach the bottom, turn right onto Pipers Lane and follow your parking co-ordinates back to your car. Please note that this is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) - All of the paths are clear to follow and you shouldn't find yourself cutting 'across country' at any point. Stick to the paths at all times, if you find the arrow starting to point away from where you're walking, you'll probably find that the path bends the right way further down. There is some great information about Heswall Dales. Please take a look at www.wirral.gov.uk/er/heslnr.htm. Shore Thing, The Dee View and Dungeons Cave are fairly near by. We hope you enjoy the area and the cache. Happy Caching!
