Class, today we're going to talk about nouns and pronouns. The
other usages are verb, preposition, conjunction, adjective, adverb
and interjection. A noun is a person, place or thing. If you can
get this concept through your thick skulls, you will be able to
solve the puzzle, find the cache and sign your name.
Here's an important fact: the same word can be a noun in one
sentence and a verb or adjective in the next sentence. To stretch
the point one might say, I park the car and walk across the walk
into the park past some trees to find a cache. In the sentence, two
words are used in two ways: park and walk.
Do you see the words I mean?
A pronoun stands in for a noun. How tedious it would be if we
only had nouns to make sentences. I have another example for you.
The second sentence of this paragraph would have to read, “How
tedious sentence structure would be if OldBaldEagle and all other
geocachers in the world only had nouns to make sentences.
If you learn nothing from doing this cache, but you solve the
puzzle and the hide is no longer a mystery to you, you will have
earned a smilie, and a FTF coin (if you are the FTF). Do you
understand? Geocaching is a fun sport which calls on us to use our
knowledge, and our skills, and when in doubt, to use other
resources in the toolkit, else, if you can’t solve it, it is okay
to make a call to a friend.
