Trail starts off steep but then levels out. Well worth it. Can
continue on the upper loop to make hike 4 miles but can turn back
after gettng the cache to make hike 2 miles round trip.
We hid this cache as a family, which seems like a million years ago. The 4 Harts had just moved here from
Missouri, and spent many of our first days hiking in the Pikes Peak forest and finding caches all over. This cache is placed on a trail we hiked during our first long weekend in the state. Back then, the kids were 10 and 9. Unfortunately, we lost our son 15 years after this cache was hidden to brain cancer. But we do now enjoy three grandkids from our daughter. So, as you can guess, this cache has a very special place in our hearts now. We hope you stop and take a family pic like we did because memories of geocaching still warm our hearts.
We recommend bringing up a bag of M&M's to share at this spot and to capture a family photo like we did. Life is short, so eat chocolate and enjoy each other.
Unless there is a heavy snow (2 feet of fresh powder) this cache is accessible. We hid it when there was about a foot on the ground. It sits up high enough and in an area that gets a lot of sun.
Thanks to Hiker Ron and the 'Geocaching Colorado' club for telling us about this cool new trail.
,Br>Great News! The FTF was given to earnie 66 and JP 66 and
kids! Since this is a family cache it is great to have the FTF go
to a family
