This cache is located in the Lake Greenwood State Recreation Area along the Nature Trail in Campground #1.
The trail head can be found behind the Recreational Building in Campground #1, on the left as you enter into the campground.
The nature trail makes a loop that is approximately 0.8 miles long and has blue blazes (trail markers) that follow along the shoreline and through a mixture of pine and hardwood forest.
However, during the winter months the road to the campground is closed, so you will have to park in the reserve parking area located to the right and left of the Drummond Center/Park Office and will make for a longer walk.
The cache is a green military ammo box located off-trail, so it might be helpful to create a waypoint to back-track to the point at which you left the nature trail, especially during the summer months when the foilage is greatest.
Please remember that you are in a forest and need to be aware of those hazards associated within it.
There is a fee to enter the park: $2.00 per person over 15, $1.25 per person over the age of 65, and free for anyone under 15.
