Mountjoy Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This micro cache is placed near Mountjoy castle which stands on a hill on the western shores overlooking Lough Neagh. It was built in 1602 by Lord Mountjoy and was partly burnt in 1643. The well preserved castle once garrisoned English troops during the early 17th century. The castle is joined on to a farmhouse and is now behind a new building development.
Co-ords for the turn off for the castle are N54°33.427 W006°36.140 as the sign on the main road has gone. Cache is a 35mm film canister with a log, bring your own pen or pencil.
