Ballymacormick Point Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

erik88l-r: ARCHIVED. I must say I am disappointed to read several logs about the cache being in a dry stone wall after the cache owner acknowledged prior to cache publication that the cache met the requirements for caches placed in Eire and Northern Ireland - among them that the cache not be in or near a dry stone wall. I am also disappointed that over the years no one posted a "should be archived" note mentioning that. No offense intended here, folks, but if we do not police our sport it will be done for us.
Thanks for your understanding,

Geocache Description:

The cache is a jam jar and is located halfway between Groomsport and Ballyholme (Bangor) along Ballymacormick Point - owned by the National Trust. The cache can be reached from the car park at Ballyholme just off the Groomsport Rd (sign posted Beach Car Park and Toilets) or from parking in Groomsport from the track down the side of the war memorial.

There is a clear path the whole way round, but some scrambling over rocks may be required - its VERY mucky during the winter and popular in the drier months.

Opposite to where the cache is - on the rocks is a colony of about 11 seals so bring binoculars to get a closer look.
