Geocache Description:

This is an easy on-off at exit 153 of Interstate 90. Trucker and RV friendly location. Cache is in a small cylindrical container. Large enough for coins & small trade items.

This would be a great place to stop and stretch your legs while traveling through the plains of Wyoming. This is a nice rest area with bathrooms, water, phone, play area, picnic tables, even kennels for Fido. All that and a history lesson too. This is where the historic Texas Trail passed through this area. Thousands and thousands of head of cattle were moved along the trail during the 1800's. There are several interesting markers around the rest area that highlight local history. Be sure and take time to read them. In more recent history, in the 1970's Steven Spielberg shot scenes from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" here and at Devils Tower (60 miles north). During the warmer months, you may even catch a local rodeo at the little arena next door. Click on the icon above to visit the Wyoming Geocachers Network website.
