Geocache Description:

The Coordinates given are for the first clue and parking nearby.

A pleasant walk through the quaint Cambridgeshire village of Haslingfield. Most of the 0.7 mile route is paved but the last bridleway section can get muddy after rain. The use of wheelchairs and buggies is possible but it can be a little bumpy. The route is popular with Muggles and their dogs.

The village sign and start point

The Village
The village of Haslingfield has been around since the time of the Angles, due to its close proximity to tributaries of the river Cam.

Haslingfield is dominated by All Saints church dating from the 12th Century and modified several times since. It has an organ that has an interesting history and has been renovated in recent years. Not far from the church is another renovated building, Haslingfield manor, that has won awards recently. It was built by Thomas Wendy in the mid 16th century and is buried at the church.

There is a project in progress within the village to move two historic buildings (Bakehouse and privy), out of the way of developers, to a new location. The project is due to finish in the summer of 2007. The bakehouse will be open to visitors once the project is complete.

As there are so many 'freebie' CD's and DVD's stuffed inside periodicals these days I have decided to create a cache where they can be swapped. The only other items welcome are the usual TB's and Geocoins. When logging please indicate which freebie is taken and left. No duplicates and only freebie discs please.
