Geocache Description:

Here ya go guys, a different type of night cache for Central Oregon! Instead of chasing those reflectors around with a high power flashlight, this one requires you to use an infrared remote control.

That's right! Leave those 5 million candlepower flashlights at home, they will just screw up your night vision for this very special night cache. In fact, the only reason to carry a flashlight at all is to keep you from tripping on rocks or running into the trees and bushes. That's right, a flashlight on a night cache that is used for what a flashlight was intended for, to see where your going and not to find something shinning back at you!

What you do need for this cache however, is an electronic infrared remote control, like the kind that about 99% of us use for our TV's, VCR's, Stereos and the like. That's right, grab your buttons, the changers, the idiot box controller or whatever you call your remote control before you head out! What your looking for are little Green LED lights that will blink at you when you activate them with your remote control. So, no big lights needed, the more accustomed to dark your eyes are the better you will be able to see the flashing Green LED lights. If your going with a group of people, it is nice if everyone has a remote. So bring enough for everyone!

The listed coordinates are to the starting container, a tupperware container that contains a couple extra remote controls (just incase you forget to take one with you). You can park next to the silver metal gate, a distance of about 50 feet from the starting container. Once you find the starting container, WALK 20 FEET EAST, turn off all your flashlights and start pointing your remote control around with a button or two pushed. Look for a flashing green LED light. You might have to move around a little, say 10-20 feet in all directions as the effective range of the recievers is about 25 feet. Once you spot the little devil, head over to it and start looking for a black metal tag attached somewhere below the light. The coordinates to the next blinking LED are imprinted on this metal tag. Plug these new coordinates into your GPS and start walking to your next destination.

Once you get to the new designated area, turn off all your flashlights again and start pointing the remote control around until you find the next flashing light. Again, you might have to move around a few feet here or there as the range of the remote is only about 25 feet. Once you find the flashing light, look for another metal tag with the next set of coordinates and start the process all over again.

There are a total of 4 different flashing lights to find, and at the 4th you will find the coordinates to the final container. The final container has no flashing lights!, and is hidden very well.

After completing the cache, if you used our remotes, PLEASE RETURN THEM BACK TO THE STARTING CONTAINER so the next person attempting this cache has something to work with. After all, the starting box is only 50 feet from your vehicle and it is not that hard to return the remotes. If you don't return them, the next person that attempts this cache without bringing their own remote will be really upset. If this is the case, WE WILL pass along names and addresses for quick and adequate revenge!

Good luck, have fun, and watch out for the boogieman!
