Geocache Description:

This cache is part of the Wake County Parks Geocaching Tour (WCPGT), which is modeled after the Wake County Junior Naturalist Challenge. Completing this series will require you to visit each of the locations that the participants of the “Junior Naturalist Challenge” will visit. Consequently, each part of this series is named after an event that takes place in that particular park. The six preliminary caches will give you clues to the coordinates of the final cache. This series is also a sort of tribute to my children, who completed the challenge last year (2006). Because the Junior Naturalist Challenge is designed for children, all of the caches in WCPGT are very kid friendly. Each one is accessible with a baby jogger, and none require more than a .5 mile round trip hike.

This stage is located at Lake Crabtree County Park and can be accessed from the “Old Beech Trail”. Do not try to access this cache from the open space near the lakeshore. The container is a regular size Mayo Jar, and contains a log book and a few small trade items. The park is open 8:00 – sunset daily, but is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Years Day.

Other stages in this series are:

WCPGT: Frogfest
WCPGT: Harvest Day
WCPGT: International Christmas Festival
WCPGT: Winter Open House
WCPGT: Moon Walks and Trail Rides

Each of these caches will give you a clue as to the location of the final cache. Once you have found each of the six preliminary caches, use the clues to find:

WCPGT: Earth Day Celebration
