De groene gemeente Voorst bestaat uit twaalf kernen, iedere met hun eigen karakteristieken.
Dit zijn: Bussloo, De Vecht, Klarenbeek, Nijbroek, Posterenk, Steenenkamer, Terwolde, Teuge, Twello, Voorst, Wilp en Wilp-Achterhoek
Village Centres
The green municipality of Voorst consists out of twelve village centres, each with its own characteristics. They are: Bussloo, De Vecht, Klarenbeek, Nijbroek, Posterenk, Steenenkamer, Terwolde, Teuge, Twello, Voorst, Wilp and Wilp-Achterhoek
De Vecht
De Vecht is een klein, landelijk gelegen dorp met een vrij uitgebreid buitengebied met vitale agrarische bedrijven. Totaal circa 410 gemoedelijke en vriendelijke inwoners. De Vecht is een jong wegdorp dat in de 19e eeuw is ontstaan op een wegkruising naast de Groote Wetering. Het agrarische dorp vervult een centrumfunctie voor het omliggende buitengebied. Ten zuidwesten van De Vecht wordt het gebied Weteringsebroek ontwikkeld. Dit is een gebied waar landbouw, natuur, waterberging en recreatie in samenhang met elkaar worden ontwikkeld.
De inwoners van De Vecht zijn actief in vele “eigen" verenigingen zoals sportverenigingen, een Oranjevereniging, toneel- en carnavalsvereniging.
De Vecht heeft ook een eigen belangenvereniging.
De Vecht
De Vecht is a small rural village with a rather vast area around it with vital agricultural companies. About 410 easy going and friendly inhabitants. De Vecht is a young village along a road and originates from a 19th century roadcrossing alongside the Groote Wetering (Large Watercourse). The agricultural village has a regional function for the surrounding area. South West of De Vecht developing of the area Weteringsebroek (Watercourselowland) is underway. This is an area in which agriculture, nature, water storage and recreation in close connection will be developed. The local people of De Vecht are active in many clubs and societies, such as sports, national celebrations, performance and carnival. De Vecht also has its own special interest group.
Historie
In 1818 werden de kernen Twello, Voorst, Wilp en Nijbroek samengevoegd tot de huidige gemeente Voorst.
De eerste bewoners in de huidige gemeente Voorst moeten zich langs de IJssel op de hoger gelegen zandgronden gevestigd hebben. Door de slechte afwatering was het moerasachtige gebied aan de IJssel minder geschikt voor bewoning. Nadat na de zevende eeuw de afwatering en waterstand in de IJsselvallei beter onder controle werd gehouden, kon de vruchtbare bodem langs de rivier bebouwd worden. Zo ontstonden de eerste akkerbouw en veeteeltboerderijen.
In de dertiende eeuw begonnen ontginningen vanuit de marke-organisatie en door particulieren, die gronden kochten van de graaf van Gelre. Aan het eind van de dertiende eeuw konden er zo grote gebieden in gebruik worden genomen.
De IJssel werd ingedamd, wat een grote verbetering opleverde voor de wegverbindingen naar Holland en de Duitse handelssteden. Deze zogenaamde Hessenwegen en (later) Hanzewegen liepen bijvoorbeeld langs Teuge en Twello. Langs deze wegen ontstonden kleine dorpen, die zich uiteindelijk tot de gemeente Voorst vormden.
History
In 1818 the village centres of Twello, Voorst, Wilp and Nijbroek were joined into the present municipality of Voorst.
The very first inhabitants of the present municipality of Voorst have likely lived on the higher sandbanks of the river IJssel. Due to bad drainage the marshy area along the river IJssel was more or less unfit fur human habitation. Past the 7th century the drainage and waterlevel in the IJsselvalley could be better controlled and the fertile soil along the river was reclaimed. So the first agriculture and cattle- breeding farms could start to exist.
In the 13th century reclaiming started by hamlet organizations and by privat persons. They bought land from the Count of the county of Gelre.So at the end of the 13th century vast areas could be exploited.
River IJssel contained what benefited the road connections to Holland (in the West) and German trade-cities to the East. These roads - so-called Hessenroads, later called Hansaroads went alongside the village centers of Teuge and Twello. Along these roads small villages were established and eventually they became the municipality of Voorst

*Loop zoveel mogelijk op de stoep of uiterst rechts van de weg; buiten de bebouwde kom links van de weg; kijk goed uit bij oversteken en let op Uw kinderen!
*Betreed geen particulier terrein tenzij dit anders is aangegeven
*Honden aangelijnd toegestaan
*Totale fiets-/wandellengte van deze cache parkeerplaats-parkeerplaats is 1700 meter
*Deze cache is geschikt om te doen in combinatie met een auto-/fiets- of wandeltocht
*Bereikbaarheid met OV: Vanaf NS station Klarenbeek per regiotaxi-info en reserveren zie www.regiotaxi-noordveluwe.nl
*Enige basisschool (Lagere School) kennis is in De Vecht een vereiste
*De foto’s 1-11 zijn essentieel voor het uitvoeren van deze cache
*Cafe “de Vecht” is een prima plek voor het uitrekenen van de cachelocatie of na het vinden van de cache voor een aangenaam verpozen.

*Parking of motorvehicles at the designated parking= N 52º 15.499 E 006º 02.448
(parking Café de Vecht). Under no circumstances is it allowed to do this cache by motorvehicle!!
*Suitable by foot and bicycle; not suitable for prams and with marshy conditions pushing buggys need some determination
*Walk as much as possible on the sidewalk or at the utmost right side of the road; outside the build-up area at the utmost left of the road; watch carefully when crossing roads and watch your children
*Do not enter privat property unless stated otherwise
*Dogs at a leach allowed
*Total walking-/cycle distance of this cache is 1700 meters
*By public transport: From Railwaystation Klarenbeek (East of Apeldoorn) by regional taxi-info and reservations see www.regiotaxi-noordveluwe.nl
*Somewhat basic Primary School knowledge is essential in De Vecht
