Geocache Description:

Located between Castroville and Hondo on a short section of the original old US Highway 90 which pretty much followed the original Chihuahua Trail.
NOTE: I REPLACED THE 35mm CANISTER WITH A SMALL SIZED CAMFLOUGED JAR, AND ALSO INCLUDED A NEW LOG BOOK.

There are very few sections of the original highway 90 left, this section is only a few hundred yards long, but still has the original white line down the middle. It is difficult imagining old Ford Model A's sharing this narrow strip of pavement with Greyhound Buses and Semi-Tractor Trailers.
There was no I 10 back then and this was the ONLY southern route to California.
Most freight back then was carried on the nearby Southern Pacific rail line.

THIS IS A MAJOR CITO PRACTICE AREA!
I think the locals use this abandoned road as a dump. BRING A BAG WITH YOU.
