County Cache Facts: This was the most beautiful day all winter long and it was an excellent day to place a cache. I can't believe the spot I found to hide this cache and I was equally surprised that the nearest cache was like 3/4 of a mile away. There is an awesome playground about 150 feet from ground zero which overlooks the lake. There are many, many picnic tables and barbeques. Parking is maybe 400 feet away and very ample. The welcome center, bathrooms and showers are maybe 150 feet away. Basically everything is close to you. Now, for all those canoe folk and kayakers out there: you can launch your boat, for free! All you need to do is sign in at the office and have a PFD. This is a Green Acres area so there is NO admission. There were many workers milling about getting the park ready. The place is very well-manicured and just beautiful. One final note: There are a lot of stickers and lord knows what else at ground zero. I would think twice before letting any youngsters back there as it gets a little crazy. Oh yeah, one last thing, the place closes at dusk so be sure to hightail it out of there before the gates are locked.
