Container is a steel Army surplus ammunition box (6" X 11" X 7") laying under a lone bush at 6863 ft elev, 25 ft away from a 4-way trail intersection, about 100 yards west (downhill) of the highest point* on the mountain. Do not go off trail until closing in distance to the waypoint is less than about 50 feet, as this cache accessible by FOLLOWING EXISTING trails and dirt road. Resist the urge to bushwhack.
Watch out for snakes in the grass or sunning on the trails (wear long pants and boots)! Approach from the Green Mountain WEST parking lot (6125 ft elev) which is off of Rooney Road, along C-470. The East parking lots (Alameda Pkwy) are much further away. Expect to walk/hike about 3 miles roundtrip (to top of mountain) from West parking lot. Carry Water. Please do not leave matches, food or drink. Sign the logbook and enjoy the view, then log your find to this site when you get home.
*Bonus: There is a USGS benchmark named "Green Mountain" at the highest point, mounted on a large rock. This appears on most topo maps.
