Disk Golf Any One? Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

CDS231: Well after 10+ years and 373 finds this one has finally given up the ghost. Really they replaced the top portion of the bench and removed the "special container" with it.

Thanks to all who took the time locating this cache.

Geocache Description:

Just a traditional, small cache located at Jefferson Barracks Park (hours are sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset).   JB MAP

The difficulty on this is raised a level because you will have to dodge the disk golfers that will be in the area, especially on the weekends and later in the day. Come early to avoid rush hour traffic on the course. If you see activity at the location of the cache the best thing to do is come back at a later time. This cache is at the very edge of the park by the entrance located at S. Broadway and Gregg Road. It will be a short walk if you park on S. Broadway before you enter the park. Look at the signs to make sure it is a legal area. This cache is not wheel chair accessible.

Note: S. Broadway turns into Grant Road at Gregg Road. There is also a second parking area in a small lot on Gregg Road.

I have never played disk golf but it does look interesting. The 15th hole where the cache is located is a 206 foot, par three with a dog leg to the right.

This area is in the far NE end of the park so facilities are limited with only benches and trash receptacles provided.

To start this one off it has a log book, pencil, pen, small trinkets, key chains and a travel bug. When finished please place the container exactly as you found it.

Congratulations goes to GeoTrakers on being the FTF.

NOTICE: Please be respectful of the posted park hours. If you enter the park after hours you are trespassing. If you are stopped you can be ticketed or arrested and will put the future of geocaching in the parks in jeopardy

Special permission to hide caches in St. Louis County parks is NOT needed as long as the Groundspeak rules are followed. "Blanket Permission" has been worked out in advance with the park service. DO NOT CALL THE PARK as they cannot handle the calls. The Groundspeak cache reviewer does need to know exactly how and where the caches are hidden and what type of containers are used. The geocaching liaisons will notify the park service of new caches. Remember NO AMMO BOXES or PVC PIPE caches.
