Before geocaching, there was letterboxing. Those who letterbox leave their stamp in the log book and use the stamp from the hide to stamp their own book (Kinda like a passport, so you know where you've been).
As this is a hybrid, you'll need your GPS unit to find the starting point. After that, you only need to follow the riddle below in order to find the hide. Stamps and an ink pad are included in the cache for you, as well as additional scraps of paper should you wish to take a stamp imprint home with you.
Here's the riddle:
From the coordinates above you need to go
With the Northbound traffic flow
Things you'll see along the way
Include a sign about children at play.
Next, to the East will be a yard.
Continue North to the cache and its guard.
After several blocks, the beast will be in sight.
It is silver (or gray), and is on the right.
It's on private property, with the owner's OK
As long as you search for it during the day.
Please don't look for this at night.
As you may give a homeless person a fright.
The First to Find gets a two-dollar bill.
For the rest of you, only the beast is your thrill.
EDIT: 5/20/11
This cache has been taken many times.
If only Muggles paid for these crimes.
So now it's a Micro, which is not my ideal.
Hopefully this will be harder to steal.
Special thanks to It's A Small World for her willingness to speak to the owner with me, as well as for her logbook art.
For some strange reason, owners are much more cooperative when the kids are with me...
