Geocache Description:

FTF goes to Miriam&Molly on March 6, 2007

This is a 7 stage multi cache.
Round trip distance is near 1 1/2 miles. Look for all the related caches in the area!

Be aware of the typical Spenceville hazards such as Un-even ground, Barbed Wire, Fences (You can cross them), and Evil Wildlife (Don't cross the!!!). You will be kept close to a road for a while then have to cross a fence and a small creek (You can do it without getting wet in normal conditions).

I was born in the bay area and lived most of his life in Carmichael California. Don’t ask me the year I graduated from la sierra high school or when I attended American River Junior College. But I did receive my bachelors from California State University as Sacramento but I was bored and figured this Masters thingee might help. Was that enough? Nope because I went on to get a PHD (Yes I got it but you better not call me Doc) from United States International University down south in San Diego.
My best friend since I was 7 is Dennis also known here abouts as 2Dee2Dee. Funny thing about Dennis and Dorothy, Joel (My peep squeak) didn't realize until he was in Junior High School that Uncle Den and Aunt Dorothy weren't blood relatives. As 8th graders Den and I skipped school most Fridays, writing notes for each other, so we could go fishing. If ever you see Joel (Rolltider) ask him about seeing Den and I manning the SS Deflation. We took an inflatable kayak out to the island at Buck Island Lake and on the way back den we spring a leak and the inflation was escaping us. All Joel seen was his dad and Uncle Den paddling like crazy, but the boat wasn't visible. Just two guys laughing and paddling like mad sitting on a few inches under the surface on what was left of our kayak!
I loved upland game hunting at one time, especially pheasant hunting with our dog Patches. One day I came home with birds and one wasn't dead... That crazy bird hopped out of the backpack and ran around our garage with patches and myself in hot pursuit!!! Well I finally caught it and I just couldn't bring myself to kill it. That ring neck became our pet "Phillip the Pheasant” We kept him until his wing healed and then I took him out and released him to be on his merry way; I never hunted pheasants again.
I acquired our German Shepherd Lobo one day when someone dropped her off at the little league park, leaving her to starve. I couldn’t stand to look in to those eyes so I brought her home.
Janice compliments me and says I’ve always been extremely active in our boy’s school activities. I remember being talking in to playing Santa at the elementary school one year. Around the table that night I was making idle chit-chat and I said "well, I hear Santa paid a visit to your school today." “Ya right dad! It was you; Santa was wearing your brown shoes"
I wasn’t always a professor; I’ve even done some work for the state as a juvenile probation officer. I did that for ten years in Sacramento before switching roles. I started teaching at Yuba College and finished off my working career there also.
My family is #1 with me. Janice and I have three sons. Jeff who lives in Japan, Joel who lives near us in Yuba City, and James who lives in Southern California. My boys and grand kids are the best reward for what I’ve accomplished. Keeping Janice and I company in our house now days is Calico our Jack Russell terrier. What a caching partner!!!
Did I mention how I met Janice? He friend Sherron hooked us up on a blind date of all things. She was engaged to my cousin Ron at the time and must have been feeling sorry for Janice and I. That was the beginning of more than 43 years of happiness though! 44 this September
I love caching and look forward to spending my retirement setting plenty more caches out and enjoying the life and roads I’ll travel…

Beware, depending on where you park there are few gates within a decent walking distance.
The barbwire fence (for the Spenceville Area) are there to keep vehicles out not people

(The POC is Tim Caldwell, the manager for the CA Fish and Game concerns for Spenceville (530) 624-8658).
You must practice non-destructive methods for crossing it though, perhaps a thick material to avoid any scrapes or scratches.
