'My Old School' by Steely Dan is part of Robbos Tunes 2 Treasure series which are dedicated to happy family memories of times we spent time together adventuring -
( The 3 Musketeers)- around and near our home in Kendal.
This is the site of the old Kendal High School for Girls where Jane spent 7 happy years learning!!??
Visions of green gymslips, berets, hockey and stinkbombs spring to mind as well as detentions and lines but lots of laughs too!!
We brought Nan, (of 'Lilian's Lookout' fame - she's 90 years young this July!!) to help us look for a hiding spot so we can tell you it is wheelchair accessible to within 5 metres of the spot although mobility is needed to actually grab the cache.
As we looked around for a likely place we talked about the old High School days and Nan told us how she was forever being sent for by the teachers to go into school to talk about the very naughty and cheeky Jane Rodgers!!
Ironically, in 1990, Jane went to work as a Learning Support Assistant at this same school which was now Kirkbie Kendal Lower School, spending lots of time inside the Staff Room rather than outside waiting for the next punishment to be dished out!!
As a family we have spent a lot of time at the adjacent Ski Club and one day watched from the Ski Lodge as parts of the Old School were demolished to make way for a housing estate.
So lots of good memories for us all in this place going back over 40 years - Jane was 54 years old the day this cache was hidden!! - (4th March 2007)
Please rehide the cache carefully as this can be a busy place. Thank you.
