It was a group walk and we had done the cache on Moel Hebog. The
next challenge was to walk to nearby Moel yr Ogof and see if we
could find the cave that Owain Glyndwr was hiding in. Despite three
people's efforts, friends on the end of the phone searching the
internet we found nada. I've since found out that the cave is
located at N53 00.505 W4 08.875 or SH 559 478.
If you can find the cave on Moel yr Ogof that Owen Glyndwr was
reputed to have used, please post some photographs. I'd like to see
what the cheeky monkey looks like!
But I still had a cache to place.... I was reluctant to place a
cache for no reason but I should not have feared for at Moel Lefn
there is an amazing view.
Moel Hebog itself blocks a bit, but otherwise you can see Black
Rock sands, Criccieth, Pwllheli and then down the Lleyn Peninsula.
All along the fab hike that is the Nantlle Ridge (complete with
view onto Anglesey through the gap between Craig Cwm Silyn &
Mynydd Tal-y-Mignedd) onto the other side of the valley and onto
Moel Eilio & Foel Goch. The view hits the big hitter of Snowdon
and then down to the pointy Yr Aran. A great view up Nant Gwynant
and then Beddgelert nestled at the bottom of the valley before
coming back round to Moel Hebog.
I liked the view, so I thought others might appreciate it too!
So I placed the cache here.
Free car parking is available in Beddgelert at N53 00.781 W4
06.321 (Ted
Rogers).
