The 2003 bushfires reached this point, but I expect the cache is now pretty safe. There are a couple of large flat rocks not far away that should provide a comfortable spot to sit and sign the log.
The cache is well above the intersections of Yamba Dr, Erindale Dr & Long Gully Rd. Do not try to access the cache from these main roads! I suggest you park at either: - Shepherdson Pl roundabout in Isaacs, or
- Hawkesbury Cres in Farrer
(The access is very straightforward from Isaacs - the path goes under Yamba Dr and you then cross the stile into Farrer Ridge at the top of the hill.)
There is no need to cross the fence at the cache site - stay on the Farrer Ridge side of the fence no matter what your GPSr is telling you. There is a steep drop down to the road on the other side of the fence which is not immediately obvious - you have been warned!
The cache was listed on the day of the 2006 ACT Cache of the Year Awards – hopefully a walk up here is a good way to cap off a fantastic day with fellow cachers.
