Geocache Description:

Easily accessible location containing a cache protected by the two natural phenomena that confuse a GPS receiver, magnetic fields and line-of-sight blockage. These weaknesses in the technology of GPS may make this cache more difficult for the novice and an advanced lesson in using GPS for the experienced cacher.

The first stage will provide you with only the coordinates of the final (second) stage and is protected by two magnetic fields. GPS receivers (GPSr) produce erratic readings in the presence of strong magnetic fields and the first stage has been placed within one. Try finding its latitude and longitude separately by walking along North-South and East-West lines a few yards away from the approximate location if you have trouble. Then visually triangulate to find the point at which they intersect to spot the exact location. The coodinates for the final stage are here, but do not expect to find them in a conventional container. They are within a weaker magnetic field that is protecting them.

The final stage is a traditional microcache containing just a log book and pencil that is protected by not being in the direct line of sight of overhead GPS satellites. GPSr produce erratic readings when they do not have a clear line of sight simultaneously to several GPS satellites. Try approaching the location from a couple of different directions if the dead reckoning feature of your GPSr is unable to take you there directly.
