Geocache Description:

When we feel the need to get away, but not far, we jump into the Motlahmobile and head up to the Monte Cristo Campground. Being an old goldminer, Jackcheese is very familiar with and has always had a fascination with the nearby Monte Cristo Mine. You can read about it at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monte_Cristo_Gold_Mine

This last trip we decided to hide a new cache to replace the first Nomad cache near here. We had named it after an quirky old guy we met there who said he was a "nomad",(no, he didn't look like an old Chevy wagon), but he probably muggled that last cache.

A good starting point is at site #15 in the Monte Cristo Campground.

An Adventure Pass is required for parking in the National Forest, but you shouldn't need one for each quick stop, but don't blame us if you get caught!

During the warm summer months rattlesnakes are in the area so use caution. Before looking under rocks or brush, first use a long stick to be sure it is safe!!

After this cache, there are a few you can get to by dirt road... which most likely is not graded very often, so high clearance vehicle with some driving skill or 4X4 vehicle recommended.

Cache is a micro in the forest...eewwww!!! The cammo makes it more like a small cache.

Cache is log only please bring pen/pencil.

Cache On!
