Geocache Description:

baby&Mrs gopher & Roostaman have joined forces to host an Easter event for anyone wishing to geocache in Wagga Wagga over the Easter weekend.

Come and celebrate Easter Saturday with your fellow geocachers.

An Easter BBQ for the whole family close to the centre of the Riverina. This event is a bit different from your normal event cache, as it is mainly a social event.

We will be holding a caching event also for the day that will involve some skill with a GPSr.

Here is the Agenda -

Sat 7 April 2007

11.00 am Meet at the special starting point that we will announce just before the event.

(the above co-ordinates are at the Scout Camp on Oura Rd.This is near Patersons Rd.)
There are BBQs, shelters, toilets, kids play equipment and there might even be a geocache in the area.

Sausages etc will be provided for a small charge to cover costs.

BYO soft drinks or there is water on tap nearby.

Instructions will then be given for the run of the event.

12.30 pm Cachers set off for an afternoon of caching around town searching for the new caches placed especially for the event.

We will be placing a few new caches just prior to the event so all attending can share in the excitement of First to Finds and any bonus surprises.

4.00 pm All check back in with details of your finds (and/or did not finds) & see how everyone else went.

There may be prizes depending on the numbers attending the event, but there should be fun for all no matter what.

This is a social event to introduce all new players to the game and if you have a potential newbie, then bring them all along too so they can find out more from the teams on the day. There will probably be some travel bugs & geocaching gear for them to see & check out. We can also show them any tips & possibly how to go 'paperless' or 'tech' caching.

No need to worry if it is a wet day either. BBQ's are under cover (& that will keep muggles away.

And if there is enough interest we may have to organise a pizza night too so you can tell your tales to all who will listen.

Please post a note to say how many will be attending, how many adults and how many kids. remember, kids are more than welcome, it's a family event!
You can email me by following the 'profile' link if you want to know anything else prior to the day.

We will update all those attending with more details when we work them out.

Other info:

This is a totally free event and you are free to make your own arrangements for both food and accommodation but if there are lots attending we may be able to offer a special campsite where we can all stay away from the busy town traffic.

There is plenty of space for camping and camp trailers at this site, but it will depend on the numbers, so let us know quick if you are coming.

Camping equipment and clothing required will need to cover the range from unseasonably warm autumn conditions through to cooler weather, which is not uncommon in April. Check this out just before we go.

There are showers, toilets, a large kitchen, hall (with power), and a tenting / camp trailer space.

Camping fees will be $6 per person per night and is available for the whole long weekend (Fri – Mon) if people choose to come early and/or stay long. We have checked around & this will be the best price anyway.

There may also be a small charge for the Hall/kitchen, which will be extra handy if it is wet.

Feel free to make your own arrangements, there is no expectation that you will make use of these offers but they are being made to allow you to focus on the geocaches and keep the event accessible to all.

Register your interest and post a note this cachepage.

Hope to see you all there.

PS: if your from out of town & were thinking about coming to our fair city & needed a good reason, you are all welcome, but keep in mind that this is not intended to be a big event by any means. There are lots of interesting caches for you to look for if you wanted to come & make a weekend of it. You can arrive Friday and will have all day Sunday & Monday free to cache to your hearts desire.
