Geocache Description:

Near a sidewalk that runs in front of a local gas station. A quick park and double grab. Grab a snack and grab a cache.

I haven't placed a micro cache in the city yet as all of mine have been normal size containers in the woods somewhere. Well I was cleaning up the garage and I found some magnetic key holders that I had purchased years ago and never used. So I thought about a good spot and put me a cache together.

I was going to stick it under the phone booth at a local gas station and the hint was going to be "Usual place". So I pulled up to the gas station yesterday morning and got some gas to scope out the phone booth. Well from closer it turned out the phone booth didn't have a phone. So now my whole plan is shot.

So I am standing there looking and I see another possibly good location. About that time a van pulls up right there but two guys get out and walk into the store. So I finish getting gas and pull up next to the van. The driver is still in there! ARGH!

So I just leave. But as I pull out onto the road I realize there is a gas station across the intersection with a phone booth. My plan could still work! So I pull up in front of the phone booth, jump out and stick my cache underneath it and the cache falls back into my hand.

The entire phone booth, stand and all, is made out of some non-metallic composite material. ARGH! I get back in my Jeep and go to work.

So today I decide to try that spot in front of the van at the first gas station. I pull in this morning and no one is there. I get out and walk into the store to purchase something to scope out the full scene. I have the cache in my coat pocket. As I walk back out I stop by the spot to tie my shoe and at the same time place the cache.

I step around to the Jeep and get my GPS and take three readings while pretending to check out my tire. You always have to check out something on a Jeep. I got the readings and headed back to work. YEA! My first micro, finally.
