Geocache Description:

EVENT Northwest Ohio Geocachers - 2007 International CITO Day
WHO Northwest Ohio Geocachers and friends
WHAT The Northwest Ohio Geocachers will participate with Jeep® and Groundspeak who are sponsoring International Cache In Trash Out Day. This will be Groundspeak's fifth annual event!

We will be cleaning up trash at an area of the Oakwoods Nature Preserves which is part of the Hancock Park District of Hancock County Ohio.

WHY

International Cache In Trash Out Day is an opportunity for geocachers and friends to help clean up parks and other cache-friendly places throughout the world. Through our volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources. Together, we make an enormous positive impact with just a little joint effort.

Our local CITO Events are actually a good time, and we often find places to grab some food and socialize after our events. Click here to see photos of previous events.

WHEN Saturday, April 14th 2007  (NOTE! This is now the correct date!)

Please arrive at 9:30 am so we can coordinate our efforts.
We will start our clean-up efforts at 10:00 am once we have split into teams. Of efforts will probably be completed before noon depending on the number of attendees.

Stick around until 2:00 if you would like to attend "Beginner's Geocaching"by Hancock Park District, to be held at the same location. Experienced cachers are also encouraged to attend! Visit their Event page.

PHONE CONTACTS You may contact a NWOGEO Steering Comittee Member via our special NWOGEO Phone Number.

419-491-7555 (Toledo area local number)

Please bring this number with you to the event! The number is forwarded to up to three cell phones simultaneously. You will reach whoever answers first.

SPECIAL NOTES Bring safety vests, work gloves, grabbers and buckets if you have them!

Inexpensive grabbers and safety vests are available at places such as Harbor Freight on Reynolds Road in Toledo.

Better, and slightly more expensive grabbers as well as safety vests are also available at Home Depot and similar stores.

Trash bags and probably some safety vests will be available from our previous CITO events. Latex gloves will also be available for those who wish to wear them under their work gloves.

5 or 7 gallon buckets work great for carrying litter. (Some dorks even bring custom NWOGEO/CITO Trash cans on luggage carts.)

Bring your FRS/GMRS radios and tune them to channel 2 to keep in contact with others in our group.
