A Little Bird Told Me - FeatheredFriends 2K


Our FeatheredFriends: As most locals know, our FeatheredFriends often host bird walks in various parks. Triad Park just happens to be one such spot. What better place for a cache like this than in a bird walk park? The coordinates are for parking. Check for park hours. When this cache was created, the hours were around 9AM-8:30PM. During winter, the park closes at 6:30PM.

Cache Overview: This cache is geared around both one of the FeatheredFriends' specialties and one of the top questions they field on their walks in this park. Prepare yourself to do some bird watching yourself--and a little learning, to boot. I know I did.

Composition: This cache is composed of a clue box and a final. During a maintenance run on 20081223, I consolidated the original four clue boxes into one. Therefore, the posted coordinates are just for parking. As for the hide methods and cammo, it's nothing you haven't seen before and are all standard. Both containers are good ol' ammo cans. As of 20130322, both containers are still present and in excellent condition.

The Clue Box: The clue box will contain eight items needed to find the final cache. Identifying them will result in one word. If you come to more than one word, use the more common one. For instance, if your answer is "red fox", use "fox" as your answer.

The Final Coordinates: Write the answers in the below table. The number next to your answer tells you to count to that letter in the word. For instance, in the word "coordinates", the number seven will give you "n". Write that letter down. From here, translate that letter into its numbered place in the alphabet: "n" will give you fourteen. Put that number into the non-shaded area in the table. One digit numbers will have a zero in front. After that, take the sum and you have the final coordinates.
