Geocache Description:

When you just can’t handle finding another micro, do a BIG 180 and head out here.

“Would you like to try our special micro meal?”
“No I’d like a regular, please.”
“Would you like to Super-Size that order?
“Why yes I would!”
“Would you like fries with that?”
“Huh????”
“Please pull around to the second window....”

Okay, geocaches aren’t as easy to order as a burger and fries but variety is always nice. So when you’ve had your fill of micros and nanos and you feel that hunger for a Super-Sized cache, we recommend you do a BIG 180 and then do the BIG 180. How big is super sized you might ask? This is an ammo box but best described as an AMMO BOX, just viewing the photo of the initial booty this was stocked with should give you a rough idea of the size. Paddler Found and I stumbled across a roadside vendor selling this and just couldn’t resist putting one into the wild. And what better name then a BIG 180 when this is actually my 180th hide!!! Woo-woo... :O)

This cache is hidden in a newly cleared area labeled Gracie Glade as SWFWMD opens more of this area for hiking, biking and horseback riding. This is within a half mile of the main parking area of the Gilley Tract Preserve in eastern Manatee County. You can find a map of the trails and tract information from SWFWMD’s webpage and find out about this 5,800 acre preserve by visiting this link : SWFWMD Gilley Info Do NOT attempt to short cut to this from the SR-675 as you will have to cross a barbed wire fence to gain access to this. The best path is to head to Mighty Oaks of Nowhere by Mrs. Treadmark GCV83K and then it’s a straight shot to the cache location. During times of heavy rain you might find some muddy spots so be careful.

There are enough multi and single stage caches in this area to make a full day of it so check all the caches that make up the realm of nothingness. You can start you adventure by parking at N27 29.881 W82 18.695 and you can hike or bike to tackle this big challenge, or even tackle it on horseback if you wish (plenty of quiet secluded parking for horse trailers, too).

This was pre-stocked with a load of trade items and a TB so be sure you trade for trade to keep this well stocked. Enjoy the short hike and be sure to secure the lid to keep the Florida weather (and critters) out. You do not need to move the container to access the contents so please leave it in place and re-cover as well as you found it to keep it fun for the next extreme cacher.

For complete hiking, biking and geocaching information on Gilley Creek Tract including a “shopping list” and order or attack for the complete series of Nowhere caches, visit infiniteMPG’s Gilley Creek Tract information page here --> Gilly Info This includes a printable trail map, full trail and visitor information, photos, and a geocaching guide to help you get the most out of your visit to Gilley Creek Tract.

Enjoy the hike or bike and have fun at Gilley,
