Geocache Description:

TSPS Calibration point #1-Actual point is 5 feet north of coordinates

****The Cache has been temprorarily been removed from service due to new construction in the area. It will be reset in a new location.*****
The monument was recently removed by the City of Garland. The cache is still at the same location but the monument is now missing. Plans are being made to replace this monument and move the cache. This is the first in a series of monuments (disk in concrete) set by the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors-Chapter Five. This point was set with the latest GPS suveying equipment. The coordinates given are accurate to about the size of a dime or less. The observation of satellites were over a four hour period. The coordinates are actually N 32 degrees 54.8665401 minutes ans W 096 degrees 38.2485725 minutes. We surveyors love all those numbers after the decimal point. Check out your GPS'r and enjoy. Special Thanks to the City of Garland for helping set this point. If you find the cache and would like to see a display of surveying instruments drop by the Library that is close to the point.
