Geocache Description:

This is one in a series of caches on things that once existed but only exist in our memories now.

In the late 70’s a new fried chicken place opened their doors at this location. Popeye’s was trying to make some in roads on the chicken capital state of the world and choose to locate a store 2 blocks from the KFC. They also set up shop in Radcliff. The building was painted fire engine red with black trim. Even with their spicy chicken and dirty rice, the locals were reluctant to give up their finger lickin’ chicken and the restaurant soon closed its doors. The next place to open in the building was a place called Digits, it was at the time the only place you could get one of those craved square burgers in this area, at least until the WC opened their doors in Radcliff. The square hamburgers would eventually be replace by a Dunkin Doughnuts, but again this place could not turn a profit so the building would set vacant for several years until Rally’s tore down the place and replaced it with one of their prefab double drive through trailers and the rest is history. If you ever want to see what the old building used to look like check out the Chinese Wok on East Lincoln Trial Boulevard in Radcliff. One feature that I thought was unique was the black lava looking rocks around the back and the base of the building, Do you Remember?

Cache is a micro container with only a logbook
