Kodak Moment Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Eclectic Penguin: Sorry folks, as MillerMadness has already described - the cache is gone with a lot of recent tractor activity in the immediate vicinity.

Since the uniqueness of this cache was actually the container (the Kodak instant camera shown in Daidragon's photo) I suspect it would be impossible to get another so I'm archiving this.

Geocache Description:

The cache is not too far to walk but you may need to negotiate a stream along the way.

The cache is located on the site of the former Pen-Prys colliery. This pit was just one of many dotted around this countryside (including St. David's Colliery on the opposite side of the valley) that interconnected to create a single large mine. The mine closed in 1896 (though historic maps appear to show that this shaft had closed by 1881). There's some evidence still remaining of its past - the ground appears to be still covered with slag and waste from the colliery.

This cache was originally a multi-cache based on a series of small cards hidden in various locations in the locale (mostly related to the mine), but over time this became unmanageable so the cache is now a straight forward traditional cache that can be completed in about 10 minutes.
