The First Annual RRG Spring CITO Cache In Trash Out® Event

This cache has been archived.

Totem Clan: Thanks again to all those that attended and to the staff of Turtle River State Park. There may not have been much trash to clean up, but I feel this was a big success. I hope to see you all on the trails or at least at our next event.

Happy Caching,

Totem Clan.

Geocache Description:

When: April 14, 12:00 noon until 2:00 or 3:00 pm
Where: Turtle River State Park

This will be the first ever CITO event for this area. The folks at Turtle River Stare Park have been more than generous in helping us with this event. Let’s make sure it’s a good one.

The State Park is a fee area; however the Park has waived the day use fee for anyone participating in the event. Make sure you stop by the Ranger Station and get your special day use pass. I have posted the coordinates below.

We will be meeting at the warming house at the sled hill. The posted coordinates above are for that location. After the cleanup we will meet back there again.

We will be cleaning the area around the chalet and the sled hill. If we have enough folks we will be cleaning near the CCC shelter as well.
The Park will be providing us with the trash bags and will dispose of all the trash that we collect. Depending on how many people we have we may be clearing some limbs in the area as well.
You will need to bring gloves and dress according to the weather. Don’t forget to bring appropriate foot wear.

Kids are more than welcome. What a better way to teach them to care for our environment. So bring the young ones.

An unactivated 2007 CITO geocoin will be given away to one lucky participant. The members of the MBGA (Manitoba Geocaching Association) have donated two sets of travel bug tags to be given away. Thank you MBGA.

After the cleanup, we will meet at the warming house for warm drinks and a snack. If you could please bring cookies, brownies, or such to share, I will make arrangements for the drinks.

Once again I want to thank the staff of Turtle River State Park for being so helpful with this event. Let’s show our support to them by having a great turnout.

Happy CITOing,
