Madison, the City Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

isht kinta: Since the cache owner has not responded to my reviewer log about the cache, nor did they post a note to the cache page telling me and others of their intention to address the issue with it, the cache has been archived.

Some time ago, I posted a note to the cache page requesting the cache owner to post a response on what they were planning to do with the cache. I have no record of a response, and no response tells me that they are not planning on replacing or repairing this cache. If I am wrong with that assumption, please let me know promptly. I can always unarchive the cache for you if needed.

Geocache Description:

******Cache Info - The cache is located a short distance from parking. Approximately 100'. The cache is a small container that will hold small trade items. I'll try to keep it stocked with something for the little cachers since this is a family friendly location.

There is an old Archived SuperSquid magnetic key cache in the same location. I decided to leave it for "historical purposes"!

NOTE: The new one IS NOT A MAGNETIC KEY SAFE!

Madison is a small town just North of Jackson,MS. It has been rated in the top 10 Places to Raise a Family, a Certified Retirement Community, etc.

******History
Madison, Mississippi, named for James Madison, the fourth President of the United States, grew up along a bustling railroad track in pre-Civil War Mississippi. It was 1856 when the Illinois Central Railroad opened its Madison Station, the forerunner of today’s City of Madison.
Madison remained a town until 1985,when the municipality was reclassified as a city. The city has flourished as it has grown from a small town into a carefully planned city. Strict ordinances, such as ones designating architectural controls, providing landscape and building guidelines have helped to preserve the charm and integrity of one of Mississippi’s fastest growing cities.

******Current City Life
A red caboose and the Old Water Tower on Main Street are icons for the city. The caboose also serves as a backdrop for the stage at Madison's annual Swing Into Summer every Thursday in May. Every spring the City of Madison swings into summer with the biggest month-long picnic in the state of Mississippi. The highlight of this spring extravaganza is good music and children's activities. Family and friends gather together to spread out their blankets, pack a picnic and enjoy the sounds of local bands. Located at the Madison Square Center for the Arts in the heart of Main Street every Thursday in May from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. After ten successful years, Swing Into Summer has become a family tradition. Please bring the family and come join us!

******Originally a PMO Cache
