This cache has been archived.

New York Admin: Regrettably the owner has not responded and I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Located in Huntington near the borders of both Cold Spring Harbor & Huntington Manor (Station), this tri-village multi within an almost residentially locked 11 acre park should prove relatively quick with easier terrain and no bushwhacking. Park here: N40°51.493 W073°25.886 or here: N40°51.437 W073°26.019

According to legend, over 50 years ago, this was once a Camp for both Girl & Boy Scouts. The camp was closed after one poor scout disappeared while working on his Orienteering Merit Badge. No longer a Camp, it is now a lonely (& smaller) park with a few overgrown trails. It is said on quiet nights you can hear the Lost Scout muttering to himself "40 paces south southeast..." Geocachers beware, he is known to be jealous of people with GPS. If only he had one!
This is a small L&L with the usual swag, a few travel bugs and for the FTF; a Swingin' Sinatra Mix CD! Seriously, this park could use some TLC, so please come prepared to practice CITO.
