Geocache Description:

Located just off the path going through Poet's Glen next to Kinleith Burn. It is about a 15 minute walk uphill from the Water of Leith.

The glen is named after the weaver-poet James Thomson (1763 - 1832) who lived in a cottage called Parnassus in the glen with his wife and 6 children. His book of collected poems in the Scottish dialect was published in 1800.

Next to the glen is the old Glenburn Hotel, which although marked on some maps, is no longer a hotel.
Access is via the footpath that runs from Blinkbonny Road to Kinleith Farm. If approaching from Kinleith Farm, then there is a signpost for the path. If approaching from Blinkbonny Road (my preference), then do NOT attempt access up Braeburn Drive. (Park here instead). Go slightly to the right of Braeburn Drive, and the start of the path is opposite Moidart House. The path follows the stone wall, and then through it, and past the pond. Please note that there are some steep drops, and water, so please take care with kids.

As the cache is quite close to the path, then please ensure that it is well concealed again. Tree cover may give some difficulty with signals when the leaves are out.

There is quite a bit of wild life in the Glen, with snowdrops, and daffodils. There are rosehips in the autumn.

Why not continue a circuit along to Clubbiedean Reservoir and my "Under High Voltage" Cache. (visit link)
From there continue on back to the Water of Leith.
