Geocache Description:

In honor of Ken's 20th anniversary of living in North Carolina.

In March 1987, Ken (of The Alethiometrists) packed up his few worldly possessions and hopped on I-77, bound for Carolina. Now, in March 2007, he finds himself stunned to realize it's been so long. To mark the occassion, he's placed a cache in a spot symbolizing both sides of his adopted homeland. As you walk to this cache from the suggested parking, look north and you'll see a beautiful wetland, full of birds (it's called a "waterfowl impoundment," but the birds are actually free to go). Look south, and you'll see a disturbed stand of trees bordering a busy highway, with a nearly continuous sound of traffic.

The cache was initially loaded with a complete set Alethiometrists' signature magnets. It's similar in size to a decon box, but somewhat thinner.

It shouldn't be hard to find - enjoy the hike!

Notes:
- Please bring your own pen.
- This cache is on Gamelands, so standard precautions apply: avoid hunting seasons, except on Sundays, but keep in mind that blaze orange makes a smart fashion choice anytime folks might be shooting guns.
- This cache has been placed within the Radius of Wonder.
