Geocache Description:

Skunk Berries Bridge

I found this wonderful bridge while driving country roads. I believe it is a truss bridge. I wish I knew more about its history. I saw a fox here so be sure to look for it.

THERE IS NO NEED TO CLIMB ON THE BRIDGE TO FIND THE CACHE.

The Kiowa Tia Piah Society was a hereditary warrior society has reorganized as a clan of gourd dancers. The dancers use gourds made from traditional bottle gourds, small tin cans, large salt shakers, and metal tea balls. Women sing songs of victory (War mothers' Songs) and men sing songs of brave deeds..Gourd dancing is an important part of the Pow Wow circuit

According to the Kiowa, this type of dance comes to us from Red Wolf who gave it is a gift to a brave young warrior. He asked the young warrior to pass it on to other brave men and to protect the people. The society was called Tdien-pei-gah (presently Tia Piah) which means skunk berries
