[THIS CACHE WAS UPDATED & REPLACED ON 02/28/2016. The cache was taken / vandalized a couple years ago and has now been replaced.] This is our first time placing a cache. It’s located a hundred feet off the paved road. Not much hiking involved. In the summer there are some stickers and dried weeds to contend with. In the winter it will probably be muddy.
The cache is a plastic mayonnaise jar inside of a large zip-lock bag.
Original Cache Contents includes:
- 1 Disposable camera (Has been removed and pictures are now posted!).
- 1 Deputy Sheriff’s Badge.
- 1 Small bottle of travel shampoo.
- 1 Green Hot Wheels racecar.
- 1 Batman (He is guarding the cache. Don’t take him unless you have a suitable replacement guard).
- 1 Logbook with ink pen.
- Information about “Darold’s Tree” and a family picture.
This cache is located next to the largest know living Interior Live Oak tree. Please take care not to disturb the tree or damage it’s surroundings. There are neighbors nearby that may be curious about your presence. Make sure they know that you're visiting this "famous" tree and will be respectful of the surroundings.
