This cache presents the opportunity of a short circular walk into countryside from the centre of the town. Ordinary flat walking shoes will be fine for all but the shortest of the circular walks described. Stretch your legs and get away from the beaches and the tourists for a while!
Car Parking is at Butts Field, Gas Lane, Tenby (signposted "North Beach Car Park"). Coordinates N51-40.747; W004-42.160. It is Pay & Display. In the summer months a Park & Ride scheme operates from this car park to Tenby Harbour.
Or you can walk from the town centre. Follow the signs for "Silent World" and then your GPS.
The walk will take you along what was the old approach road into Tenby from the East which has now been converted into a cycle path and has a tidy surface with easy walking.
Enjoy the old hedgerows and country flowers and if you are quiet you will hear and see many birds. Opposite the Cemetery you will get good views looking back toward the sea and the town. The animals may be a little harder to spot but their tracks should be obvious, it being fox and badger territory.
The cache is a small square sandwich box. Please ensure that it is properly snapped shut, adequately concealed and returned to the same place when replacing. Please consider the next cacher who may be seeking it out. Also, since it has been moved several times please replace where you found it! (even if you disagree the Coordinates.) The location does play havoc with the GPS. Best to try from two directions to get the spot.
WALK 1
For a short loop walk carry on along the cycle path and take a left along a muddy path just before the houses. This will bring you into Upper Hill Park Housing Estate but by following the path left(called Blind Lane) you can get back down to the start of your walk. This path gets very wet after rain so make sure you are agile and well equipped. Why not visit the aquatic creatures at "Silent World" in the converted church at the end of your walk? Circular: 1 miles(1.5Km).
WALK 2
Walk on to the main road. Turn left and follow the road back down into Tenby (please walk on the right hand side roadside verge for safety for the first 300 yards and then the pavement reappears). This route will take you past "Tenby Welcome" for an additional cache. Circular: 2 miles(3Km) or
WALK 3
Walk on to the main road as in 2 and then turn right for 40 yards(metres) and then turn down the single track road marked "Waterwynch". At the bottom veer right onto the coast path and visit Waterwynch beach and then continue on coast path back to Tenby. En route you have the opportunity of finding the "Allen's View" cache and visiting the, now somewhat neglected, garden. Circular: 3 miles (5Km)
