Berkhamsted Station - Grand Union Series Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Alibags: I came and had a good old look for this one but no joy. Time to archive, I think. The cache has been out for 8 years, time for a change.

Geocache Description:

The Grand Union Canal links Birmingham to London with a waterway which is 145 miles long and contains 166 locks. This cache is one of a series to be found along or close to the Hertfordshire/Buckinghamshire stretch of the canal.

This cache has been placed by Berkhamsted Station, opposite a flat patch of grass which is somewhat optimistically called The Moor. The Station is actually not on Station Road because the original train station was elesewhere, until the Victorians moved it here, obtaining a nice view of the castle by plonking the station down upon the site of the castle gatehouse! Nearby you may be able to spot the totem pole, a local landmark, by some flats that occupy the site of an old timber yard. This is a high muggle area and the greatest challenge for this cache is in finding it with all the muggles around. You may like to avoid peak commuting times, where you cannot move for 'suits' falling from the train after a day in London. Please make sure that no muggles see you with the cache and do a good re-hiding job. Thanks. You are looking for a magnetic 35mm.
