Follow the many trails through Southgate Park in Green, Ohio until you come to this beautiful setting. Trails are easy to follow but can be muddy in rainy weather. In fact the cache was named due to the soggy trail conditions encountered during the wet season (spring and fall.) Light bushwhacking is required near the end. Just a short distance away is a secluded area next to North Lake, including park benches where you can sit and enjoy the view.
There is no parking within Southgate Park proper – visitors should enter Boettler Park from Massillon Road (Hwy 241), one mile south of Greensburg. Park in the southeast corner parking lot at N40 54.949 W081 27.924. The entrance to Southgate Park is only steps away on the walking trail.
Cache is an ammo box, so larger trades can be accommodated. Please re-hide the cache exactly as you found it.
The park is open from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm, or ½ hour after sunset, whichever comes first. There are several small lakes and ponds where catch and release fishing is allowed, so bring your fishing gear.
Great News! Effective Sep 2008, Southgate Park is now permitting leashed dogs on a trial basis!! Mutt Mitts are available at the park entrance from the Boettler parking lot. Please note that dogs are still not permitted in Boettler Park.
