Newport Beach Traditional Cache
whatevah.com: well, finally had time to look for it during low tide... it's gone. The cache was securely tied to tree roots, and it appears that somebody went to the effort of untying it to remove the cache. Given that the location is now exposed, I cannot place another cache there just to have it taken again. so, I'm archiving this cache. :(

A pretty easy full-size cache outside Newport.
Newport Beach... or something like that :)
This is a fishing-themed cache, stocked with (of course) fishing tackle items! Please, make sure that lures are safe to touch, all sharp points should be covered as I included pens in the cache, you don't need to sign in blood. ;) The cache is semi-boat accessible, you'd need to tie up at the dock and walk across the parking lot to get to the cache. The body of water "near" the cache is almost always far too shallow.
I've been wanting to put a cache here since the summer, but never got around to it. I tried placing a cache here back in January, but the container floated too well and once the temperature dropped below freezing I couldn't do much work with the cache. Now that the weather is nice and warm, I rehid the cache, so enjoy :)
To make it easy on the travelers... While very very close to I-95, you must exit the highway and drive for a couple minutes to actually get to this cache. Take 141 North, and then the first exit. Stay in the left lane at the first light, and in the first left turn lane for the next. Turn left (onto Justice St) and then turn left at the next light (James St) getting into the right lane. Take James St down to Water St (across from the Ciba plant) and follow your GPS from there :) To leave, take James St north to the traffic light, turn right, then a quick right onto 141 to get back to I-95.
