Geocache Description:

The Great Northern Tier Franklin County Geocaching Tournament 2007
June 9 and 10 – Sat. and Sun. The Great Northern Tier Ecotourism Task Force adds a SECOND tournament for 2007 – this time a little farther west – In the hills of Franklin County.

Expert and amateur geocachers, individuals, and families are all invited to join the hunt for “caches” hidden throughout the forests, parks, farms and cultural sites using a hand-held GPSr (Global Positioning Satellite receiver) unit and a list of coordinates.

This event will be based in Greenfield, MA at Camp Keewanee

A barbecue dinner is planned for Saturday evening at the camp. Franklin County is an area rich in natural and cultural history. This tournament is being held to encourage entrants to come discover the wealth of opportunities to recreate and learn in this fascinating part of the state. 6/2/2007 Update: Well the locations for over 50 caches have been selected, the presses for the booklet and score sheets are ready to roll and Camp Keewanee will be open for the Geo-campers on Friday and Saturday night, so make sure you have fresh batteries for your GPSr, flashlights (for the Saturday Night Caches) and join us for a weekend of Geocaching in Franklin County.
