Lin Dyke Hide 1 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Dalesman: This cache has been in need of care and maintenance for some time and as the owner has not responded to my note I am archiving it.

Guidelines:**You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing.**

If you wish to contact me about this cache please use my Email address below my signature and quote the GC number of the cache. Please note this system is not infallible and I may miss any such mail.

Many thanks,

Geocache Description:

Lin Dyke looks over part of Fairburn Ings Nature Reserve. It offers a true countryside experience and is a wildlife haven. The lakes and marshes are a legacy of the mining industry, but virtually all traces are now gone and nature has reclaimed the landscape.
As with each season brings a different experience. In spring the air is filled with birdsong as the birds establish their territories and attract a mate.
Where as summer the young birds make their first adventure into the outside world.
Autumn brings large movements of migrating birds and when winter arrives look out for the large flocks of birds gathering together to feed and keep warm.
There are special events that take place throughout the year from the Visitors centre approx 1mile east. The centre is open 9.30 – 4.30 weekdays. 9.30 – 5.30 weekends, there you can learn more about the birds and surrounding area or simply have a picnic in the picnic area.
