Geocache Description:

Here is a nice hike with lots of variety. At either end of this nature walk you can pick up a trail guide. There are also 4 cemeteries where patients of the mental hospital are buried, many marked only by numbers. The institution closed around 1993. The trail is officially called Ridges Cemeteries Nature Walk.

Watch were you park or it may cost you $20. The 'beginning' of the trail is at the Dairy Barn, a cultural arts center. Parking in the lot is Ok at all times. Coords are N39 18.896 W082 06.956 for the trail guide. On weekends or after 5:00 pm you may park at the Konneker Research Lab at the 'end' of the trail. Coords are N39 19.320 W082 06.813 for the trail guide. Parking is always free at the baseball field at Southside Park, toward the 'end' of the trail. Or park close to the 'beginning' and eliminate climbing the many steps. This is also the shortest route to the cache, N39 18.873 W082 07.250. The name of the cache is taken from the #8 stop in the trail guide. The cache is a Lock n Lock 4x4" container.
