Högenäs Orde Traditional Cache

Kuststräckan utmed Ölands nordöstra sida är uppflikad i ett antal utskjutande uddar. Reservatet vid Högenäs består av betade strandängar och en enbuskbeströdd udde eller "orde" som det heter på Öländska. På udden finns gamla strandvallar som visar Östersjöns tidigare strandlinjer. Högst uppe på udden står en månghundraårig tre meter hög fyrbåk byggd i sten. Därifrån har man en härlig utsikt över Östersjön och kustlandet. I norr ser man Källa ödekyrka och Högby fyr.

The strech of coast along the northeast side of Öland is irregular with many promontories. The reserve at Högenäs consists of grazed water meadows and promontory dotted with junipers. On the top of the promontory there is a three meter high beacon built several hundred years ago of stone. From the beacon there is a fantastic view over the Baltic Sea and the coast land. To the north you can see Källa abandoned church and Högby lighthouse.
