A quick roadside cache and dash, with a bonus attached. Due to the erection of a new fence at the reservoir you should access this cache by crossing the gate around 50m east of the old railway bridge marked NHS 6.
Newhouse Railway station was part of the Caledonian Railway, with a passenger service running to Airdrie and coal being hauled from the local mines. Much of the line is gone, and it can only be walked in sections due to new housing and the M8 Motorway. One section contains the remains of the platform of Newhouse station, where the cache can be found. The cache contains the location of a bonus cache: Lost Scottish Railway Lines No5: Cheap Day Return.
